I
WEEK 11 – WE MADE IT!
A big week coming up for all prep students.
Monday- ATHLETICS CARNIVAL
On Friday you would have all received an information note in the kit folder about the carnival which included a timetable for the rotations the children will be participating in.
Children are in age groups, and not necessarily with their classroom teacher on this day.
They may wear their house colour T-shirt but must wear their school hat, shorts, socks and shoes. This is a notorious day for students to lose things as they are on the move all day, so please ensure your child’s name is on everything and is easily able to be read. Water bottles are also essential and again please check that they are clearly labelled, as a number of children have the same water bottle.
Sno-Cones will be for sale for $4.
Tuesday- EXCURSION – LONE PINE KOALA SANCTUARY
Children wear their normal school uniform. Please ensure they have their school hat as they are outside most of the day. We will not have much time that morning to be chasing up hats for those children who don’t have one.
Students bring a small bag/back pack to carry their lunch and drink bottle in. Children will be carrying this THEMSELVES all day, so please keep this in mind when you are choosing which bag for them to bring.
Children will not be allowed to buy any food or souvenirs from the shop.
Parent volunteers have also been instructed not to buy any food or souvenirs for their groups.
Children will be placed in groups of four or five and remain with that adult all day, meeting at allocated times with their rest of their class.
The bus leaves at 9:00 am so please be punctual for morning assembly on that day, as there are the ‘last minute’ instructions etc that need to be dealt with.
It will be a fun day for the children.
And yes, they are going to be very tired by the end of two extremely big days…so good luck!
Unfortunately, and sadly, I will not be able to attend either the athletics carnival or the excursion. In week four I painfully discovered I had three bulging discs impinging on a few nerves. Some of you may have seen me hobbling around! I finally succumbed and had an injection at the nerve root, which relieved much of the pain and was able to walk much freer. However, I am not able to sustain walking or standing for any great length of time-such as at a sports carnival or excursion. The children will be in very good hands with a relief teacher they have had previously and respond positively to her.
I will look forward to hearing about all their stories on Wednesday. Thanks for your understanding in this matter.
Friday is 100 DAYS OF SCHOOL!
On Friday we will be celebrating 100 days of school! We will be doing lots of fun activities, dancing and watching a movie - your child can bring along a teddy for our movie afternoon!
Friday will be a great way to celebrate being at school for 100 days!
