The Week That Was
Daniel Morcombe Unit.- The children listed five people who could be their safety helpers, if they needed to tell an adult something was wrong or they felt uncomfortable/worried about something.
We also read the story 'Everyone Has A Bottom'. This book uses the correct names for our private body parts. Discussion centred around privacy and what that meant in relation to our bodies.
HASS= History and Social Sciences.: We have been talking about families and who makes up their family. As children bring in their family photos, they talk about their family to the class.
Sight words/popcorn words: To help with recognising these words, we now have a password to enter the classroom. The word is written on a hand and the children must say the word and hi-5 the word before entering. if they are unsure they must go and ask someone so that they may enter the room. This happens 3-4 times a day.
