WEEK 6

Letters: revision

Sight words/ popcorn words: because

Word family: revision

Maths: addition

This week saw many children watching the Melbourne Cup for the first time. Our prize winners each taking home a stash of money-chocolate coins!

On Friday we had a special ceremony to commemorate 100 years for Remembrance Day. The children each made and wore a red poppy.

On Friday we also had a guided tour of Year 1 White’s classroom looking at their remarkable work. We were very excited to see the great learning that takes place.

After reading the story ‘Possum Magic’ the children tasted some of the food that Hush ate- lamingtons, salad (capsicum, carrots) ANZAC biscuits and they made and ate their own Vegemite sandwiches (including the crusts!) Many children bravely tried some food they hadn’t eaten before.

Remember:

  • Please return portfolios if you haven’t already.

  • Prep White and Prep Green’s mass Wednesday at 9:00 am in the church. All welcome.

  • This will be the last week of Home readers. Children will get books on Monday for the last time, as all class resources need to be returned to the library.
