On Thursday a coloured strip bracelet was given to your child to let you know their sports house colour for their time at St Bernardine's. It is not essential for them to wear their house colour t-shirt for the cross- country race in week 10.
The Week That Was
We have been doing activities involving rhyming words. The children are getting much better at understanding that it is the end sound of a word that rhymes and not the fact that a word may start with the same letter, eg. cat/bat not floor/flower.
In Religion we looked at Good Friday and all the events that happened on that day, Pontius Pilate, Crown of Thorns, scouraging at the pillar and the Stations of the Cross.
Our year 6 buddies visited on Friday and had made a memory game with letters/sight words to play with the children. needless to say the preps were excited to be doing their learning with the big kids.
The children got very involved when they took control of taking a survey. They had to ask 6 children what their favourite ice block was. Coca Cola was the hands down winner.
